"THEY ARE OFF TO HAWAII TO LIVE!"
Miss G from Little House of Music is very sad on this Monday morning. One of my favorite families is already at the Orlando Airport headed to their new home in Hawaii. Hawaii is not just a little flight it's like traveling to the moon!
In the back is Mother Rose on left and Dr. Alan on the right and in the front is Miss Kelly and on the right is my Miss Madison.
Three years ago I received a phone call from Rose about piano lessons for Madison. At the time Madison wasn't sure if she wanted to continue taking lessons and Rose told her let's give it one more try. Madison studied in NYC with another teacher before moving to Florida. We all met and Madison and I became the best of friends not just piano coach and student. Madison went from playing pretty good to becoming a pianist. She was our "Student of the Year" here at Little House of Music and has become a songwriter. We just connected in many ways. Anyway, I just am so sad to see them move. I'll have to admit that I'm also a little jealous, I'd love to live in Hawaii!
Dr. Alan promised me 20 new students in Hawaii in the first two weeks he is there! I just might take him up on the offer!
Dr. Alan got a great job offer from a hospital there that he just couldn't refuse and Rose who is a nurse will also be working at the same hospital. Rose has the perfect name, she is a "Rose!" What a wonderful family they are. Kelly is a drummer and a very good one at that. From the first time I met them it was like I've known them my whole life. They will be missed even thought we will be calling and E-mailing all the time and I'm going to continue to teach Madison every week via Internet. How very cool this will be.
I wish them all the best and I know they will just fit in perfectly in Hawaii. They are the kind of people who would fit in anywhere they went.
Madison will be six hours behind me and Lore in Belgium is six hours ahead of me. How in the world am I going to figure all this out?
I'll be waiting patiently to hear from them, then maybe they won't be so far away!
I Love Them All Very Much!

"THIS MAY BE THE YEAR FOR THE CHICAGO CUBS!"

Miss G from Little House of Music hopes that this is the year for the Chicago Cubs to win the World Series for all their loyal fans. I'm a Red Sox's fan but I'd like for the Chicago Cubs fans to finally get to enjoy a World Series win. We Red Sox fans know exactly how they feel, believe me!
Today in History, June 29, 1897
The Chicago Cubs scored 36 runs in a game against Louisville, setting a record for most scored runs in a single game. You Go Cubbie's!

"MISS G'S GRAMMY IN THE SCHOOLS HAT"
Miss G from Little House of Music wants you to see my Grammy hat!
We received these in Tampa, Florida when we Grammy members visited a high school of the arts and spoke to the children who were interested in a music career and studying music.
We spoke to the musicians about our experiences with our music careers and encourage them to continue in the musical path of their choice.
We all had a great time and I met so many other Grammy people from Florida that I had never met before.
I know we all helped the students with our knowledge of the music business. If you would like Miss G to come to your school and speak with the children call: 888-GFEDCBA or 888-433-3222

"SONG LYRICS FROM ONE OF OUR FINISHED BROADWAY SHOW SONGS"

Hi, This is Miss G from Little House of Music and this is one of the songs we have finished for our Broadway Show "Lyric and Lore" we are writing. No bad at all for three students and one teacher!
LYRIC AND LORE
Lyric sings this song after she tries out for her tenth Broadway show and doesn't get the part. She really thought she would get this part. It was like the show was written for her.
She sings this song walking back to apartment after she was rejected again!
“I’M THE TEN” May 17, 2008
Words and Music by: Madison, Miss G and Hallie
1 - They say she’s pretty
They’re blind can’t they see
2 - They say her voice is beautiful
Just listen to me
3 -They say her teeth are perfect
They aren’t as pretty as mine
4 -Her hair, it’s all a frizz
Look at my hair shine
5 -They think she has talent
She can’t even act
6 -She can’t tumble and flip
I’m the acrobat
7-She can’t play an instrument
I can play two
8-Her diction is terrible
She can’t pronounce “you”
9-She only dances one style
I can dance them all
10- On her first performance
She’ll probably fall
I’m The Ten,
No matter how you figure
I’m The Ten, I’m The Ten
I’m The Ten

"MISS G AND HER SIGNS!"
Well here I am in living color with my signs I have all over my music room. This is Miss G with Little House of Music and I couldn't get all the signs on one chair. The signs are me, defiantly me, Love, Peace, Music and Imagine, my favorite song by John Lennon. There wasn't room for my Aries sign, and am I ever a true Aries woman! If you have ever read about an Aries woman you would think they were writing about me!
Who ever came up with all these cute signs did a great creative job. I like to have them sitting all over my music room. They add a touch of me!

"MY CAT AND MUSIC MASK"
Isn't this mask the coolest thing you've ever seen? This is Miss G with Little House of Music and one of my students, Ryan's parents brought to to me from Italy.
Ryan parents are both in the United States Air Force and Ryan's Mother knows how much I love cats and of course that music is my life. While in Italy she shopped and shopped to find the perfect mask for me. It's half cat and the other half music. I'm very proud of my mask and it means so much to me.
I say thank you again for the hundredth time! It was so nice of you to think of me, especially while in Italy!
Hugs to all,
Miss G Little House of Music

"MEET MY STUDENT & FRIEND MISS LYDIA"
This is Miss G with Little House of Music and Miss Lydia is my "Character" student!!! When I teach her I just sit and shake my head and laugh!!! It is very difficult for Lydia to be quiet when she is playing. Half of the time I'm not sure if she is talking to herself or to me, Miss G! I look forward every week to teaching Lydia, she is one in a million and no one else I have ever taught can compare to her personality and isn't she just PRECIOUS?
Lydia has just passed through that special time of just playing the piano into the "I Can Now Play Any Song I Want Too" stage. When you get a student to finally realize that they can really play the piano and be proud of their accomplishments, it's a special gleam on their face. Lydia picked out two songs she likes and started to play one of them yesterday. YOU GO LYDIA! There is no stopping her now and as we all know it's much more fun to play songs you like instead of those songs in those dumb student books!
Lydia did it and is well on her way to becoming a professional pianist.
Lydia is also in every other thing that you could possibly be in! Basketball, Cheer leading, I think soccer and maybe track, and on and on not to mention being a great student at school! Since Lydia is involved in so many other activites I have been worried that she would never get to the stage of playing that she did yesterday. But she did it, she pulled it off. I'm so proud of you Lydia. Keep up the good work and keep talking to yourself, it must be helping!

"IT'S A GIRL" MISS G WILL BE "GRAMMY" FOR THE FOURTH TIME"

Miss G with Little House of Music is so excited. My son Chris and his wife Catherine are going to have a baby girl! They just found out the sex yesterday. Miss Mahri Cate is due to arrive November 9, 2008. Our family is having a contest to see who picks the right date when Mahri really does arrive.
I must go shopping for "PINK" today!
I had the phone right next to the piano yesterday morning while I was teaching, patiently waiting to get the phone call from my son. I never have the phone and never talk on the phone when I'm teaching so I explained to all my students why I had the phone with me. I said, "when the phone rings I'll find out if I'm going to be a grandmother or a grandfather!" My students took a few minutes to figure that one out! My one student said, "Miss G won't you be a grandmother regardless if it's a boy or a girl?" I said, "yes, I just wanted to see if you were paying attention to me!"
Anyway, there is lots of excitement in our family. Catherine is from England so we have excitement in two different countries! This is cool.
By the way Mahri was Catherine's grandmothers name. I think it's a precious new name that I never heard of before.
Mahri weighs 13 ounces as of yesterday. I'm so excited!
Stay tuned for all the updates on Miss Mahri, I bet she will have long fingers and be a pianist!
Thanks Chris and Catherine for giving me another grandchild to love.

"MISS G's MUSICAL QUOTE OF THE DAY"

Yes, it's me again, Miss G with Little House of Music with yet another Musical Quote!

"FOUR "STAR" STUDENTS AT LITTLE HOUSE OF MUSIC"
I never had this much fun when I took music lessons! This is Miss G from Little House of Music.
The picture is of four of my students I'm coaching. Left to right, Madison, Raven, Maddie and her sister on her lap, Sydney.
Madison is one of our professional pianist that you have heard a lot about already, Raven is playing very well, she has only been taking for six months. Just look at her outfit! She always comes to class looking like she stepped out of a magazine! Isn't she precious?
I have a funny story about the two sister Maddie and Sydney. Sydney is five and took Little House of Music and is just about ready to go into level one. Well, this summer Maddie age seven decided she also wanted to play the piano. At lesson time last week Maddie said, Miss G, "I didn't understand this and Sydney wouldn't help me!" The older sister asking for help from the younger sister, how cool! Sydney has taken off at the piano and really is playing very well at five years old. I told Maddie that she will caught up real soon with Sydney! Sydney knows every bit of theory she is supposed to know at her level, but then Sydney is a lucky one, she took Little House of Music first before she started to play the piano and at her first private music lesson already knew all the notes and timing.
You Go Sydney!
Enjoy the picture and thank you parents for sharing your children with me, I love them all very much.

"MISS HALLIE TEACHING LITTLE HOUSE OF MUSIC"
Hey Mom, I know where all the C's are on the piano! Hi, this is Miss G from Little House of Music.
Miss Hallie is all involved in showing her students their way around the piano keyboard. These are just a few of our students taking our "Little House of Music"course. On the left is Natalie, then Braden at the piano, Miss Hallie and Claire in the back. The picture on the right is of Natalie playing a "C." Natalie will not be four until October. Get the kids started early with music. The kids are so excited. They can't wait for their turn on the piano bench! In ten weeks from now they will be playing the piano. Isn't that cool? These precious little fingers playing the piano.
The kids love Miss Hallie and we had a cup cake Birthday Party for Hallie yesterday. We ate our cup cakes outside on the bridge!
The students are so much fun to teach. When they are this young they are so eager to learn something new. We have a great class. If you are interested in more information or signing up for a class call Miss G at Little House of Music.

"OUR OWN MINNIE PEARL, MISS MADISON!"

Madison you look splendid in purple! You really should have purchased the hat! This is Miss G from Little House of Music and this is my Madison on a shopping spree at a "Thrift Shop!" Madison went with me to take things to drop off and of course we had to shop! I just had to take this picture of her in that hat!
Just in case you forgot, Madison was our "Student of the Year" this year at Little House of Music and Minnie Pearl was a star in Nashville who always wore a hat with the price tag still on it! I got to meet her one day while in Nashville eating lunch. She was a great lady, very funny and was at the Grand Old Opera many, many times.
This is just a great picture of Madison and I had to share it with you.
Enjoy,

"HAPPY 17Th BIRTHDAY TO OUR OWN MISS HALLIE"

Happy Birthday to Hallie, Happy Birthday to Hallie, Happy Birthday Miss Hallie, Happy Birthday to you from Miss G and all your students at Little House of Music.
YOU GO GIRL!
JUST HOW MANY 17 YEAR OLD GIRLS CAN SAY THEY ARE A PIANO COACH, THE PIANIST FOR THEIR SCHOOLS JAZZ BAND AND HAVE A GIG EVERY SUNDAY MORNING PLAYING THE PIANO FOR THE ENJOYMENT OF OTHERS WHILE THEY EAT SUNDAY BRUNCH? NOT TO MENTION HALLIE COMPOSED A BEAUTIFUL SONG THAT WAS ON OUR "TWO OCTAVES OF KIDS" CD CALLED "FOURTH TIDE." THE CD MADE IT ON THE GRAMMY BALLOT FOR BEST CHILDREN'S ALBUM AND HALLIE HAD HER SONG, "FOURTH TIDE" CHOSEN TO BE ALL BY ITSELF ON THE GRAMMY BALLOT FOR "BEST CLASSICAL CONTEMPORARY COMPOSTION", THAT HAPPENED WHEN SHE WAS ONLY 16! CAN YOU IMAGINE HAVING A SONG YOU WROTE ON THE BALLOT FOR A GRAMMY AT AGE 16?
YOU GO HALLIE!
There really aren't words for me, Miss G to express how truly proud I am of my student Miss Hallie. She has come so far in leaps and bounds in the past two years I can hardly keep up with her. In the past four years Hallie has gone from a piano student to a beautiful, talented pianist. There is not one note that Hallie plays that doesn't have self expression and her love for music. Her fingers makes songs sound like they were meant to sound. She takes every ounce of her and puts into her playing. Feelings, nothing more than feelings is how Hallie plays the piano. The piano is her best friend and you can hear that when she plays.
To be this good at 17, just wait until she is 20. What a career she has waiting for her.
Happy Birthday Hallie, I Love You and hope this is the best year of your life. I already know each year will get better because you will!

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. GEORGE ORWELL"

Happy Birthday to George Orwell from Miss G at Little House of Music.
George Orwell was born June 25, 1903 and live a short life only until 1950. He was a British Novelist and essayist born in India.
He is best known for his novels, "Animal Farm" and "Nineteen Eighty-Four."
I read both of these books when I was in high school. George Orwell had a great vision of our future. So much of both of these book are so true today. I liked reading both of them very much and would like to read them both again.
Happy Birthday George!

"MISS G'S TODAY IN HISTORY"

This is Miss G with Little House of Music and find these two items very interesting to have happened on the same day, June 24Th.
1947-Kenneth Arnold and American pilot flying over Mt. Rainer, Washington say saucer like objects in the sky. He later saw them "saucer skipping" across the water, hence the term, "flying saucers" was born.
1997-United States Air Force released the "Roswell Report" closing the case on the 1947, Roswell, New Mexico indecent concerning "UFOs and Alien Bodies!
I find this very interesting, do you believe people have seen UFOs and Alien Bodies? I do! I want ET to come and live with me!

"SUZIE AND SONNY ARE GETTING BIG AND INTO TROUBLE"

Miss G from Little House of Music must pick up toys and prizes all over the house from my students award basket. Apparently Miss Suzie on the left and Mr. Sonny on the right think everything in the basket is theirs. It took me a little while to realize why they were getting into the prize basket every night while I slept! Well, one of the items I choose for my students prize basket was glow in the dark lizards! I guess they got me! I call them my two little white rats! My husband Paul calls Suzie a little beast! It's so cute, the minute Paul gets at his computer Miss Suzie jumps on his lap and stays there the whole time and whatever I'm doing Mr. Sonny is right in the middle messing ever thing up! They are so precious you just can't help but love them! Sonny is now much bigger than his sister Suzie and has long hair and a big beautiful fluffy tail. He's beautiful but it hard to beat Suzie's big beautiful "Blue Sparkling" eyes.
They don't play the piano very much, I think that is scares them when they make noise on the keys. With all my students playing everyday you think by now they would be used to the piano sound.
Anyway, glow in the dark lizards are a wonderful toy for your cat!

Miss G from Little House of Music wishes one of my favorite actress's. Meryl Streep "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!"

She has been nominated 13 times for an Academy Award.
Meryl Streep was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004 from the American Film Institute.

"LET'S HAVE QUIET SUNDAYS!"

This is Miss G from Little House of Music. Is it to much to ask to have one day a week be a peaceful day? I choose Sunday's. Every other day is so noisy, trash pick up, other big trucks with people doing work, people mowing their yards, etc. on and on.
WHY CAN'T SUNDAYS BE A NATIONAL QUIET DAY! NO MOWING OR NO LOUD NOSIES OF ANY KIND!
Everyone in the world has six days to mow their grass, why can't they get it done before Sunday?
There is hardly anytime, anymore, ever that's it's quiet enough to hear the birds sing.
PLEASE CAN WE HAVE ONE DAY AS A SERENE DAY, QUIET PLEASE, LET IT BE SUNDAYS!
Let me know if you agree with me.

"OUR OWN MISS MADISON TAKES NEW YORK CITY BY STORM!"

Hi, this is Miss G from Little House of Music and I'm jealous! My Madison got to visit New York City for a whole week with her parents and she got to see "WICKED," The Untold Story Of The Witches From Oz. Oh, how I want to see "Wicked!"
All the pictures are of Madison at the theatre where she saw "Wicked" and inside the theatre at the "Wicked" clock! The picture on the right is of Greshwin Theatre! How Cool!
Madison and I both have the sound track from the hit Broadway Show "Wicked" and we both love all the music.
Madison brought me a "Wicked" coffee mug which I'm using right now to drink my morning coffee from, a program and her ticket! I'm so happy Madison got to see the show, it will help us all out while we write our own Broadway Show, "Lyric and Lore."
Madison lived in New York City for nine years and next week she will be moving to Hawaii from Florida. I can't even put how I feel about her leaving into words except I could sit right here now and cry!
We are planning on writing each other and calling each other all the time and she is still going to take piano lessons from me via "MAC" computer! How cool is this going to be. I'm sure you will hear a lot more about Madison and our Florida to Hawaii piano lessons!
Madison, Miss G loves you with all my heart and you will always be with me even though you are in beautiful Hawaii! I just must visit!

"OUR STAR LOUIS AS THE PHANTOM"

Happy Day, this is Miss G with Little House of Music and isn't this picture of our own Louis as "The Phantom" wonderful?
Louis has been studying dance, jazz and ballet now for six years, he started dance lessons when is was six years old. Louis was Phantom of the Opera for his Ballet class at Dussich Dance Studio's 50Th Anniversary Recital. In his other number he was a Jazzy Pink Panther. Louis also played the song "Pink Panther" at our "Songs of May" party. You Go Louis! I do believe this young man is headed for Broadway! I know he loves the arts, how very wonderful for a young man of 12 to be so talented in two things, dance and piano. The world is his, he will just have to make up his own mind when he is older which direction he will take. The great part of this story is that he has had the opportunity to do both. I only wish every child in the world had the opportunities Louis has. Of, course Louis has wonderful, dedicated parents. Remember, behind every successful child are successful parents!
I'm so proud of you Louis. Keep up the great work and remember Miss G loves you always!

"MEET MR. MOOZART"
This is one of my favorite gifts my students ever gave me. Forgot, this is Miss G from Little House of Music.
Two years ago my students, Branell, Kieran and Breezy went on vacation with their parents and came across Mr. Moozart. They all immediately said, we must get this for Miss G. I was so excited when I received him. Isn't he just precious? Take notice to his utters, they are pedals just like on the piano! Mr. Moozart was made by a company called Cow Parade.
Mr. Moozart stands proudly on a shelf for all to see in my music room.
Where ever my students go I usually ask them to bring me a rock to put at my bridge. I have quite the rock collection but only one Mr. Moozart.
Enjoy,

"THE HULA HOOP"

Miss G with Little House of Music wants to know if you can keep the "Hula Hoop" going, on and on?
When I was a kid I had no problems at all. I could keep the hula hoop going round and round all day, so why can't I do it now? Is it a hip thing with women? It makes me so mad, I try and try and the dumb thing keeps on falling down!
The Hula Hoop was invented in 1958 and sales were over 100 million in the first twelve months. In 1957 an Australian Company began making wood rings for sale in stores. Richard R. Kmeer and Arthur K. Melin of Wham-O Toys in California found out about the idea and the next year plastic, bright colored hula hoops were for sale everywhere in the USA. What an idea! I guess both of them and their families are very rich people today. I wonder if the older ladies in the family can keep the darn thing going round and round? Maybe it's just me! I'm going to keep trying because it's a great exercise, well I guess I do get exercise from picking it up all the time!
Go get a Hula Hoop and see if you can still do it and let me know!

"HAPPY SUMMER EVERYONE"

Miss G with Little House of Music wishes everyone a "Happy Summer!"
We all seem to think we must go far away to go on vacation. There are so many things near where I live I have never been too or seen. I'm sure it's the same way for everyone. With gas prices the way they are this would be a great year to take in some new things to see in your own area! I not going to venture far from home this summer. Of course when you live in Florida you feel like you are always on vacation!
Whatever you do, please have a safe and happy summer. Enjoy the warm sun on your face, the blooming flowers, the green trees and each other.
Happy Summer!

"ANOTHER MUSICAL QUOTE!"

Yes, Miss G with Little House of Music loves musical quotes!
"IF I WERE TO BEGIN LIFE AGAIN, I WOULD DEVOTE IT TO MUSIC. IT IS THE ONLY CHEAP AND UNPUNISHED RAPTURE UPON EARTH."
Sydney Smith
I have devoted my whole life to my music and my children, believe me I know exactly what this quote means!

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY JEANNE"

This is Miss G with Little House of Music and I want everyone in the world today to sing Happy Birthday to my life long friend Jeanne. I have no picture yet but I'll post it the minute I get it.
Jeanne and I grew up together, she lived across the street. Of course we just looked at each other until we were old enough to cross the street when we were about 13! We had the coolest park right down the street from where we lived but that was also unheard of for us to go to the park and play. Now we are talking about the 50's not the year 2008! Guess Mother's will always be the same!
Jeanne and I have shared laughter, vacations, lunches, dinners, holidays and tears together. Now that's a friend. If we need each other for any reason we are always there for each other.
I love you Jeanne and I hope this year will be the best year ever for you, have tons of fun, and stay healthy.
I send a million hugs and kisses to you in good old PA.

"MR. EAMON, ANOTHER "TURKEY" STUDENT AT LITTLE HOUSE OF MUSIC"
Hi, this is Miss G with Little House of Music, can you tell how excited our Mr. Eamon is while waiting for his piano lesson!!! He was at camp all day out in the sun and had just about had it! Isn't he precious? His mother had to wake him up for the second picture we took while he took his piano lesson. You can just see by the look on his precious face that he is a little "Turkey!" He went from sleeping to playing the piano with no problems at all! Eamon is a trooper. You can also see in the picture just how much he loves playing the piano.
He may be a "Turkey" but he is certainly learning to play the piano and play it well. He played "Music Box Dancer" for our "Songs of May" party. I was truly amazed that he choose that song to play and memorized it when he has only been studying music for eight months. He has a super ear for music and is going to be a fantastic pianist if we can keep him awake! He is only seven, You Go Eamon!
Eamon is also a very good student at school. Music and good grades at school just seem to go together.
Thanks for sharing Eamon with me. He makes my week and I love him very much. He's a fine gentlemen!

"BROADWAY BOUND"

Miss G and her Little House of Music show team are BROADWAY BOND! Our Broadway show how has nine songs finished for our Broadway Show named "LYRIC AND LORE." What fun we are having. We are all helping each other with our songs and script.
This is the first Broadway Show I have ever worked on. I have written books, Little House of Music animation scripts and written over 5,000 songs but this is the first Broadway Show. I wish I would have started with the Broadway Shows. It's all of the above together with my favorite type of music Broadway show music.
Hallie, Madison, Louis and myself, Miss G think about our script and songs all the time. It's like we are inside of the show!
Whatever happens with "Lyric and Lore" will happen but we are better because we are writing it! It's a challenge! It's like my students are at a summer creative writing camp!!
I can't wait for you all to see and hear "Lyric and Lore."

"MEET OR STAR MISS ELISE"
Meet our up coming model, isn't she beautiful! Miss G with Little House of Music would like you to meet our Elise.
Elise is a pianist, she already plays very well, she's one of my students that adds colors to her songs and has a wonderful touch when she plays. She doesn't bang the keys, her touch with her fingers makes the piano sing. Elise played "Part of Your World" at our "Songs of May" party. Elise is also on our "Two Octaves of Kids" CD. She composed a beautiful song.
Not only does Elise excel at the piano, she is a great student with very high grades in school. Elise also plays the Viola in the school orchestra and runs the 800 meter relay and 100 meter relay on her schools track team, plus she is a cheerleader for her school. You Go Girl!
All these activities make me tired just writing about them!
This summer she has already held a cheer leading boot camp and is soon off to Atlanta, Georgia where she will help her church mission for a week with the inner city kids. What a wonderful thing foa a teenager to do when you are on summer vacation. Help someone else! I'm very proud of you Elise.
Elise has made teaching very special for me. As I sit and listen to her play now and think back when I taught her where middle C was on the piano, from then to now, I've earned several million dollars not to mention all the hugs, laughter and smiles at lessons. I consider Elise a friend of mine as I do her whole family. What wonderful people! Mom and Dad, thank you for sharing Elise with me. I love her and love coaching her on the piano. She will always be one of my special students.

Miss G with Little House of Music loves this one. With gas at $4.00 a gallon there is still something of pure value for very little cost.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MR. PAUL McCARTNEY"

Happy Birthday to Paul McCartney from Miss G at Little House of Music.
Paul McCartney was born in the year 1942 in Liverpool, England.
I often wonder what are world would have been like without Sir Paul and the Beatles music!
I have students today as young as five that want to learn Beatles songs. The Beatles added so much enjoyment to my life. I was glued to the TV when they made their debut on the Ed Sullivan show. I was in love with them all!
Before the Beatles break up in 1970 they recorded well over 15 albums with Grammy Award Winning Songs that we all still love to this day.
Have a wonderful happy year Paul.

"MISS G's PUMP ORGAN"
I am so lucky! This is Miss G with Little House of Music and I have an antique 1898 pump organ in my music studio from the city where I was born. It was passed down to me by my Aunt Faye and Uncle Henry and it was passed down to them from my great grand parents. It was make in York, Pennsylvania by the Weaver Organ and Piano Company and still to this day works perfectly. What great workmanship they had back then, the wood is beautifully carved and it is a wonderful piece of furniture to have in our home.
All my students get to play it. They love to hear the different sounds it makes. Some of them have problems pumping the pedals!
Can you imagine having to play one of these in church every Sunday! I would be worn out by the second song!
I am very proud and grateful to have this piece of history in our home. It adds a special touch to my music studio.
Stop by and I'll let you play it!

"WE HAVE A FLOWER BOY AND A FLOWER GIRL AT LITTLE HOUSE OF MUSIC"
It's Miss G again with Little House of Music and we do have a flower boy and a flower girl at Little House of Music.
Who ever has the first lesson of the day, a boy or a girl they bring in a "Hibiscus" flower from my yard and place it in my Hibiscus flower holder. We have fresh flowers everyday in our music studio.
This Hibiscus is a double peach Hibiscus. I have fifteen different colors and varieties of Hibiscus plants in my yard. I have red, orange, peach, pink, yellow, red and white, white, plus some two color Hibiscus flowers. Most of the leaves on my Hibiscus plants are dark green but I do have some that have green and while leaves.
Hibiscus grow very well here in Florida. Actually they flourish under the beautiful sun. At any given time I have about twenty five Hibiscus blooming in my yard everyday.
There are well over 170 different species of the Hibiscus plant. I wish I had every color. I'm been looking everywhere for a purple one.
My students have more fun running all over the yard to pick out their special Hibiscus of the day.
We do have fun here at piano lessons!

He has come a long way. At his first Little House of Music party he would not play the piano and hide under the table where he and his family were sitting!
I just love this picture and I wanted to share it with you. Now Brandon will not only play the piano but put on a show with the microphone!
Enjoy,

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO EDVARD GRIEG"

Happy Birthday from Miss G at Little House of Music to one of our GREAT composers, Edvard Grieg.
Edvard Grieg was born June 15, 1843 and he was the composer of the "Peer Gynt Suite" and the "Morning Song" that all of my students love to play.
Edvard Grieg composed many beautiful melodies for all of us to enjoy to play and listen too.
I just recently purchased a collection of his greatest compositions and I have already listened to it a 100 times. I know you would all enjoy his melodies.

"PLANT A TREE"

This is Miss G with Little House of Music.
What better way to celebrate some one's life, then to plant a tree in their memory. That's what I want, instead of costly flowers that just die anyway put that money towards a beautiful green tree for your yard. Also, that way you can talk to the tree and pretend it's me or whomever!
When someone I love passes on that's what I do. Then it feels like you always have them with you and you can still take care of them.
Just an idea, but one I really like!

"LITTLE HOUSE OF MUSIC HAS IT'S OWN BUBBLE GUM MACHINE!"

Most piano coaches won't allow their students to chew gum while they are taking their lessons, not me, Miss G from Little House of Music!
Chewing gum or in our case bubble gum is just yet another form of coordination. Both hands moving up and down the piano keyboard, both feet busy on the pedals and the mouth is going a mile a minute. What could be wrong with that? Coordination is the name of the game when it comes to playing the piano. I encourage my students to chew gum or bubble gum, it's just one more part of their body moving at the same time. Who said you can't or shouldn't chew gum while you're playing the piano. I think that may have come from some old piano teacher in the early 1900's! Times have definitely changed here at Little House of Music! Of course when my students play at a concert and are on stage they know not to have gum in their mouths but it's OK at home and at lessons.

"LOUIS AND HIS LOLLIPOP"

Yes, you can eat a lollipop and play the piano at the same time but you can't sing a song when you're chewing gum! This is Miss G with Little House of Music and this is my Louis! He is something else. A sheer joy to teach. He is like my own son, I've been teaching him for eight years. He is a very good pianist and he knows his Theory! I'm proud of him, isn't he cute with that lollipop in his mouth. Kids, some of the things they do just make me love them more!
Hugs to you Louis,

"MEET MY LOVELY MISS LYRIC"

Miss G from Little House of Music and Lyric is one of my students. After all the lyrics I have written in my life I finally got to meet her! She met her match the day she met me! Every child is so different and Lyric is the kind of child that you instantly fall in love with. She is a very happy student and likes to have fun. This past lesson her mother took pictures of me pretending to bop Lyric with her Theory book because she didn't do it! The pictures didn't turn out all that well so I'm using these that I took. We were just kidding, I'd never hit a child!
The first day Lyric walked in my door to her first lesson it was like we knew each other our whole lives. Lyrics feels good about herself like every child should. She is going to be a very good pianist very soon. She just started taking lessons and already played at our "Songs of May" party.
Being a piano coach is so rewarding. I get to listen and watch as they stumble through the C scale and then all of a sudden they know every scale! What a wonderful career I have.
I love you Lyric and you have better have your Theory done by your next lesson!

"OUR PRESIDENTAL ELECTIONS SHOULD BE LIKE THE MISS AMERICA PAGEANT"

This is only my opinion, one person, Miss G from Little House of Music.
I really don't want to vote for either Presidential Candidate this election, but it is my duty as an American citizen to cast my vote.
Our presidential election should be exactly like our Miss America Pageant, then we would have more candidates to choose from.
Every state should elect one candidate and just like the Miss America Pageant vote and get it down to ten, then five and then the new President!
I think our two party system stinks. Here we all are again, having to pick the lesser of the two evils for President of our GREAT country! I have always voted for the candidate I like the best, not the party they represent.
When Jefferson and the guys wrote the Constitution for our county just how did they know what is was going to be like in the year 2008? I hardly think they were that intelligent! Our world is constantly changing and not for the better. That nasty word GREED is what our world is filled with today.
We have plenty of oil in the United States, why do we need the middle east's oil? What in the world is wrong with our politicians? I feel so sorry for the young parents of today. How in the world can they make ends meet when they have to pay $4.00 for a gallon of gas, which in turn makes every thing else more expensive!
It's a no brainer that we need money every year for abused children and the elderly. Why must we wait until the legislative session votes on a budget every year to see if there is going to be any money for the children and the elderly? The money needs to always be available.
I have been so disgusted with this years election and the news media. They cause most of all the problems we have. The people voted for George Washington and Abraham Lincoln with no help at all from the news media. They are nothing but trouble makers. They just love to make a mountain out of a molehill.
I just hope we have a better selection for our new president in the year 2012!

"WHY CAN'T WE ALL GET ALONG?"

This is Miss G from Little House of Music and I just want to know why we all can't get along together on this wonderful earth of ours?
If a ferret and a cat can love each other why then do we humans have so many problems getting along with each other?
I have a huge bird feeder in my yard and at times there are eight different species of birds eating together plus the squirrels. They don't fight and start wars, they get along beautifully.
When religion is all about loving and caring and sharing why do so many wars start because of religion? I just don't get it, I don't understand at all.
I think every one in our world needs to start thinking from their hearts and not from their heads! And every one needs to stop being so greedy!

Isn't she lovely? Hi, this is Miss G with Little House of Music and I wanted you all to see my Miss Karen. Karen started taking Little House of Music with me and then went on to private lessons with me. Then, over a lot of crying and saying goodbye, Karen and her family moved to south Florida.
Every time I have a party I always invite Karen and her family and Karen plays a song at our parties. Although I don't coach Karen anymore she will always be my student and I miss her very much, actually I miss her whole family!
I wanted to share her beautiful face with you all.
I love you Karen and miss you very much.

"MY GREEN BAGS!"

This is Miss G from Little House of Music and I now have five green bags to take on my shopping sprees!
Remember when they had those cars that talked? Well, I need one that says, "PLEASE REMEMBER TO TAKE YOUR GREEN BAGS WHEN SHOPPING!"
I'm half way through shopping and then I remember I didn't bring my green bags along! The next thing I'm going to try to remember is to put the green bags in the front seat! Just maybe that may work!
Using the green bags is just wonderful when you remember to take them with you!

"PAUL AND MISS G IN ST. AUGUSTINE"

Paul and I had a few days off from office work at Little House of Music and me, Miss G from coaching piano students.
We had a lovely time in St. Augustine, Florida. We ate delicious food, shopped until we dropped and view the most beautiful buildings.
Today the heart of St. Augustine retains the distinctive plan of a 16Th century Spanish Colonial walled town, much of which has been preserved or restored. The numerous remaining colonial buildings in the historic district present an impressive array of architecture from 1702 to 1898.
St. Augustine is the oldest European city in the United States. The area was first visited by Ponce de Leon in 1513, but it was Juan Menendez de Aviles who established the first settlement, almost half a century befor the first English settlers landed at Jamestown. St Augustine grew to become the Spanish center of power in North American for almost 20 years. After the Spanish took back St. Augustine from the British the Spanish sold Florida to American in 1821 and left the city. St. Augustine prospered during the Seminole war of the 1830's .
The pictures are of Paul and me, the one in the middle is of Flager College, an outstanding school of art. The building is truly amazing.
If you get a chance visit St. Augustine, Florida. The history is exciting. The fort still is standing from where all the battles took place to own St. Augustine.

"WEATHER ALERT-IT FINALLY RAINED!"

Hi, Miss G from Little House of Music wants to share her excitement. After six long weeks it finally rained. I got up this morning it was pouring down rain! The trees, grass and flowers are smiling this morning. They finally got a bath! I was just about to give up hope that it would ever rain again!
I told my student Michael last night when he was here for piano lessons with me, Miss G at Little House of Music it was going to rain because he FINALLY finished his Theory Book!!! And it rained!
Our earth is truly amazing, one state is flooding and the next state is dry as a bone.
Thank you for the rain, but we still need more. The pitter-patter of the rain on the roof top is a most beautiful sound. My yard and I are happy this morning!

"TIPS ON ADDING COLOR TO YOUR SONGS"

Hi, this is Miss G with Little House of Music. I'm going to give you a wonderful tip for when you are writing a song.
"ADD COLOR!"
Our world is filled with color, just look at a rainbow. Add colors to your songs when writing.
For Example: I see the color red when I'm writing a song that's loud and fast, I see the color yellow when the song is calm and slow that I'm writing.
Everyone thinks of colors differently, so when you are writing take a moment and think, what color would I say this part of my song is, believe me it helps so much in your creativity and songwriting.
You should also add colors to your words, if you write lyrics. I can see different colors in the lyrics I write. It is very creative to see colors when you write and believe me your song will be much better.
Remember, you are only as good as your last song!
Enjoy and write a song and add the color!

"MUSIC TIP'S BY MISS G FROM LITTLE HOUSE OF MUSIC"

Did you know?
In 4/4 timing you can have four quarter notes, eight, eighth notes, sixteen, sixteenth notes and thirty two, thirty second notes. The thirty second notes are played very, very fast, "Presto!"
I'm Miss G with Little House of music and this is how I teach my students to understand timing, it's easy for them when money is involved!
The top 4 means 4 beats to a measure and the bottom four means that a quarter note receives one beat. It's a fraction, if you take the top four away and put a one in it's place it is one fourth, and one fourth of a dollar is a quarter or .25 cents. Therefore a half note would get 2 beats or .50 cents, a dotted half note would receive 3 beats or .75 cents and the whole note would get all four beats or the whole $1.00. Very interesting when you think about how much math is in music.
No wonder music helps children with their formal education with math skills!

"THE GREAT COMPOSER JOHANNES BRAHMS"

Hi, this is Miss G with Little House of Music. I thought it would be fun plus educational to have a little history lesson about the great composer Johannes Brahms.
Johannes Brahms was born in Hamburg, Germany, May 7, 1833 and died in Vienna, Austria, April 3, 1897.
Brahms studied mathematics, history, English, French and Latin in private elementary and secondary schools. Once Brahms learned to read, he couldn't stop. His well-used library of over 800 books can new be seen in the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde in Vienna. Brahms was given lessons on cello, piano, and horn. At the age of seven, he was taught piano by Otto Friedrich Willibald Cossel and within a few years was accepted into the instruction of piano and theory by Eduard Marxen.
During his teenage years, Brahms had long fair hair, stunning blue eyes, slender body, and a high voice; he could easily be mistaken for a girl. His teenage years were devoted to reading, learning, and composing music. He developed a love for folklore including poems, tales and music. In his early teens he started to compile a notebook of English folk songs. In 1852, Brahms, inspired by a genuine Minnelied poem by Count Kraft von Toggenburg, wrote the F sharp Piano Sonata op.2.
In the 1860's Brahms' style of music, apparent though out the rest of his career, became more mature and refined. Because of his large circle of musical friends, he was able to give concerts all over Europe.
Brahms was given an honorable grave site next to Beethoven and Schubert; two composers he greatly admired.
Brahms never married, but loved many women; so much to the point, that he had to deny one woman piano lessons, because he was greatly attracted to her.
Very Interesting, hopefully you enjoyed learning about one of our greatest composers of all time.

"OUR OWN RACHEL GRADUATES"

Hello, this is Miss G from Little House of Music.
Pictured on left is our Rachel, our graduate and on the right is Rachel and her sister Niki after the graduation ceremony was over.
"OH, WHAT A BEAUTIFUL EVENING WE HAD!"My husband, Paul's granddaughter "RACHEL" graduated from "Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in Jacksonville, Florida." Their commencement was top of the art. You could tell from the prelude that the combined bands played that you were at a graduation at a school of the arts. The music was not your typical high school band and orchestra performance. The music was "FANTASTIC!" The processional of "Pomp and Circumstance No.1" song was like hearing the Boston Symphony play. The Concert Chorale sang the song "Sleep." Their voices were so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes. What talented graduates this school has produced. I just couldn't believe my ears. It was almost like hearing music played at a University where the students were getting their Doctors Degree in Music.
Consider this, Douglas Anderson School of the Arts is a city school. You must pass a test to get into the school and also have a talent in one of their fields that they teach, visual arts, drama, theatre, voice, piano, instrumental, creative writing and dance just to name a few.
Why don't we have a school like this in every city in the USA? I know we don't where I live but we certainly should. I am going to check this out with our school superintendent in our county. I think everyone should look into this for the students where ever you live. When these graduates enter the doors to college or Universities they are already way advanced in their fields then a graduate from just a regular high school.
My hats off to Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. I wish they would open a school in every city in the USA.

"LOOK AT THE FRIENDS WE'VE GROWN TO BE"
Hi, this is Miss G and I wanted to share the last song lyrics with you from Little House of Music Level Three. These song lyrics have a lot of meaning. This songs tells the story of how my students and I feel about each other after three levels of Little House of Music. These lyrics could be used from any friend to another friend.
Enjoy.

LOOK AT THE FRIENDS WE’VE GROWN TO BE
WORDS AND LYRICS BY: GEORGIA LUCKING-GERMOND
Aka Miss G, song from Little House of Music level three
VERSE ONE
We’ve learned a lot, us two
You from me, me from you
But isn’t that what it’s all about when you’re friends?
VERSE TWO
We’ve laughed a lot it’s true
You at me, me at you
But isn’t that what it’s all about when you’re friends?
CHORUS
Look at the friends we’ve grown to be you and me
Day by day we’ve grown to be a team
Two hearts that will never part
Together, forever, friends until the very end
VERSE THREE
When I make a wish you’re there
When you have something good you share
But isn’t that what it’s all about when you’re friends?
REPEAT CHORUS
BRIDGE
Sometimes it isn’t easy being friends
Sometimes we have to give, take and bend
But one thing’s for sure, as long as there’s a sky about
You and I will share this special love, this special love

"STUDENTS SAY THE CUTEST THINGS!"

A new students started with me at Little House of Music, a little boy. He said, "You know Miss G that my old piano teacher was very religious, are you religious!" I replied, "Why do you say she was religious, what did she do at your lesson?" My student answered, "She had to be religious because every time I played a song for her she would say", "GOOD LORD!"

"THE HARPSICHORD"

Hello, this is Miss G with Little House of Music. I find the "History" of the piano very exciting and interesting. I have played the piano all my life and still to this day I'm not quite sure how the piano was invented. How it was done so masterfully and like a seamstress, the piano keyboard is a pattern. As the story goes, they think Bartalomeo Cristofori invented the piano in Italy sometime between 1655 & 1732 in the Baroque period. Some say he invented the piano in 1709. Bartalomeo Cristofori was a"GENIUS!" He called his new instrument 'Gravicembalo col piano e forte' or harpsichord with soft and loud sounds. How did he make the circle of fifths? To my knowledge none of it would have been possible without having no black keys between the group of two black keys and the group of three black keys! If you play every scale just like the C scale and start on any note and add your sharps of flats depending on the note you start on to play and put the half steps between the third and fourth notes you play and the seventh and eight notes you play, you have just played a scale in the key of the note you started in. How cool is that? If you know me, Miss G, I could go on for days about the theory of music but I'll get back to the first piano the Harpsichord!
The Harpsichords look like small pianos but actually work very differently. When you press a key on a piano, a hammer hits a string, but when you play a harpsichord, a quill plucks the string (much like plucking a guitar or harp sting). Because harpsichord strings are plucked rather than struck, and the force used to press the keys does not change the dynamics, the instrument cannot produce crescendos and diminuendos as the piano does.
Many harpsichords have two rows of keys, called manuals. The range of the harpsichord is about 4 and a half octaves while the piano has 7 octaves. The harpsichord's sound is crisp but delicate and much softer than a piano.
I teach all my students at Little House of Music about the first piano built, the Harpsichord. My students ask a million question, some that I can't answer!
Enjoy, now you are smart!

MEET OUR "MICHAEL"

About nine months ago I received a call here at Little House of Music from a very sweet lady, Mary, who now I know very well. She said her sixteen year old son wants to learn how to play the piano. Well away he and I, Miss G went! He has some ear for music and it's sad that he didn't start to play the piano at an earlier age. At our Christmas party after taking music lessons for only two and a half months of he played John Lennon's, "Happy Xmas!" It would take most students at least a year or more to get at that level to be able to play that song. Well, at our Little House of Music "Songs of May" party Michael played "Touchy Subject" by: Chobits - OST 2. I had never ever even heard of the song before he walked in the door with the music. He said, "Miss G, this is the song I want to play at the party." I looked at it and said, "OK!" It's was a very difficult song with both hands in the treble clef. I was worried that he would never pull it off but guess what? Michael played it by memory at our party. I'm so proud of him. I think he has found himself in his music and I know that he is proud of himself and that alone is a marvelous thing. I'd like all of my students here at Little House of Music to feel like Micheal does. It's so very important to be proud of yourself and to like yourself.
Needless to say Micheal and I have lots of fun at lessons. He wanted to run before he could crawl and he has done it! You Go Michael! I'm already afraid to find out what he wants to play at our next party!
Michael is music, he has it inside of every part of him. He feels music and his timing is perfect. What a great student, I look forward to coaching him every week. I Love You Michael!

"FATHER WHO PICKS ON ME THE MOST AWARD"

At our Little House of Music "Songs of May" party we not only had the most wonderful "Mother of the Year" award we had the "Father Who Picks On Me The Most Award!" Can you imagine he picks on Miss G? The same father won it two years in a row! At our Christmas party Norman, Louis father won the smallest and worst looking poinsettia plant I could find. This May at the party Norman won the worst looking Red Petunia I could find! I watered it when I got it home which was a mistake because it started to look better!
Needless to say, Norman, Louis and I have the most fun at music lessons! Norman does pick on me but it's all in fun, this is the only way I know how to get him back!
The picture on the left is of Norman receiving his poor looking Petunia at our party and the picture on the right is of Norman and me, Miss G on the piano bench at one of Louis's piano lessons. We learn, but we sure do have fun at piano lessons!

NEED NEW SONG--"DOG ON THE KEYS"

Dogs can play the piano as well as kittens. There was a song written by Zez Confrey in 1921 called "Kitten on the Keys." This song "Kitten on the Keys" has been recorded many different ways. Classical, ragtime and jazz just to name a few. Now we need a song called "Dog on the Keys!"
I think when I'm finished here today writing I'll go write a song called "Dog on the Keys." After all I already have the artwork!
I think this picture is so cute.
If you have never heard the song, "Kitten on the Keys" get on your computer and type it in Google and you can hear it played numerous different ways. It is a difficult song to play for the beginner student.
Enjoy,

"THE MOTHER OF THE YEAR"

The picture is of Robin and myself, Miss G hugging at our "Songs of May Party" after she was given the "Mother of the Year Award." Robin has three children who all takes piano lessons from me at Little House of Music and only one piano at home. Just imagine how does she do it? The children are prepared for their lessons every week plus Breezy has dancing five days a week and Kieran and Branell have soccer or soccer practice all the time. Oh, I forgot about the homework these children have every night. I'm truly amazed at her parenting skills. I wonder, did she have lessons? I know there is never enough time for all of them considering Robin and her husband both work full time jobs.
When you are about to pull your hair out about one of your two children having a problem please think about Robin and just shake your head and laugh it off!
Hats off to you Robin. You have done an excellent job with your children. I love you all.

"A MARVELOUS QUOTE"
Hi, this is Miss G and this is one of my all time favorite
quotes:
quotes:"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us."
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Ralph Waldo Emerson
At Little House of Music I work with my students on pulling feelings out from inside of them and adding those feelings to the songs they are playing. I call it adding your own color to the song you are playing. It works, I can hear those feelings from my students. They sometimes ask, "Miss G is this what you mean?" I tell them you've got it and keep doing for it!
Great quote to think about!

"WE HAVE OUR OWN "MISTAKE" CATCHER"

A friend from Belgium sent me, Miss G this beautiful and huge Dream Catcher. I've never seen one this large. I immediately thought it would be great for my students to see it when they came to lessons at Little House of Music so I hung it over my piano. Of course the kids love it and talk about it all the time.
One day one of my students, Justin said, "Miss G you should change the name from Dream Catcher to Mistake Catcher because we make mistakes at the piano!" I said what a wonderful idea! How clever of Justin to come up with that. Smart Child! So now we don't have to worry about making mistakes on the piano here at Little House of Music, the "Mistake Catcher" just catches them and the mistakes go away!
Thanks Justin, you made the dream catcher a very useful item, after all we don't sleep at the piano but we do sometimes goof when we play the piano!
Who would have ever thought? A "MISTAKE CATCHER!"

"MEET ONE OF OUR "STARS", MR. BRANELL"

Hi, this is Miss G and some of my students will do just about anything to get out of playing the piano! Just kidding of course! Our own handsome Mr. Branell, broke his arm one week before our Little House of Music "Songs of May" party. He was so ready to play at the party, he knew his songs perfectly. I'm so sorry Branell. The hot summer and in a cast! Even though couldn't play his songs, Branell still joined us at the party, he just couldn't pass up the good food!
Branell has been a student at Little House of Music and coached by me, Miss G for eight years. He started his musical career at age four and he is now twelve. He first took Little House of Music and then went on to private lessons. Branell is a wonderful student and has taken off with his piano performance. You Go Branell! Branell also plays a mean game of soccer and is an outstanding student at school. Branell is like my own son and I love him very much. Good luck with the arm and I'll be looking forward to seeing you back at lessons.
Hugs, Miss G Little House of Music

"SOME GREAT QUOTES"

Hi, this is Miss G and the reason I like the first quote so much is that Little House of Music is in beautiful sunny Florida.
"I was rich, if not in money, in sunny hours and summer days, and spent them lavishly." Henry David Thoreau
"Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet to come. We have only today. Let us begin." Mother Theresa
"Let us not look back in anger or forward in fear, but around in awareness."
James Thurber
Enjoy and really think about what these quotes mean.

"WHAT A WONDERFUL E-MAIL TO RECEIVE!"
Hi, this is Miss G:

Below is an E-mail I received from one of the parents at Little House of Music after our "Songs of May Party!" It brought tears to my eyes and made me so glad I'm who I am!
Miss G,
It was a wonderful party and the food and drink were excellent as were all the STARS!!
After the party, Breezy went to Megan's house for a sleep over. I picked her up today and guess what?? The two of them have decided to write a song for a duet for next year's party -- with lyrics! If they really follow through with this, we will have to find time to get them together with you to look things over. I think this is sooooo cool. The two of them are really talented girls. I will keep you posted.
Thank you sooooooooooo much for the Mom award. You are truly an awesome teacher -- coach -- and if I was thinking yesterday I would have told the world how you inspire us to work with our kids. I have never met anyone with as much kindness and patience for kids as I see in you. Some days my kids make me want to pull my hair out but you just laugh with them and move on. We will miss you over the summer but will keep the piano busy here at home until we see you again in the fall.
Have a safe trip next week and a wonderful summer.
Robin

"JUST A FEW OF MISS G'S FLOWERS"
Hi, it's Miss G again! Growing flowers and plants is a passion of mine. I would prefer a cutting from a friend's flower or I prefer to buy the plants on sale that look like they are about to die! I really enjoy planting seeds and watching them grow up and flourish. The best tomato and pepper plants I have ever grown are the seeds from tomato's or pepper's we have brought at the store and we didn't eat them in time. I just take the seed out of them and plant them and watch them grow until it's time to eat the first tomato or pepper. It really is a lot of fun to watch new life grow. Little House of Music is surrounded by flowers!
The pictures are of cuttings I got from a friend and either rooted them in water or used root tone to get them to grow. They are some of my prize possessions.
ENJOY!

"MY CHILD PRODIGY "STAR" STUDENT?"

Brandon met his match when he met me, Miss G! Brandon is not only a child prodigy but a little "TURKEY!" At Little House of Music I put a piece of music up in front of him that he has never played and he plays it immediately. He has a great future in music if I can keep him focused on his music! He is precious and I really enjoy teaching him, but he is my "Challenge" student! I wish there were a way for me to tell him (that he would understand now) at his age of eight about how great his "GIFT" of music really is! He is very intelligent which makes him a little "Turkey!" I'm sure you all know what I mean! Sometimes is takes me a few minutes to get him to sit on the piano bench instead of lying on the piano bench!
I'm very proud of him, isn't he just too cute? As all of my students I love him very much.

Two of Miss G's students. Just look at these lovely ladies. Three music students. On left is Miss Kelly who studies drums, Miss Raven center and Miss Siobhan right are both pianist. They look absolutely beautiful for our Little House of Music "Songs of May" party.
Kelly is quite the little drummer, she is doing great on the drums and Siobhan and Raven are both advancing beautifully on the piano. Children who study music are the special children who always do well in school.
Enjoy this picture of our "STARS!"

"BEETHOVEN'S "PRESTO AGITATO" WINNER!

Miss G here, in an earlier post I told you about the contest we were having at Little House of Music to see which of our students could play "Just" the first page of Ludwig Van Beethoven's, "Presto Agitato." The winner would get a $20.00 bill at our Little House of Music "Songs of May" party. The song is very difficult with five sharps and played very fast or "Presto" in music.
For three months I kept asking my students how they were coming along with the song? Well, I never had any good comments from my students, they all said it was too difficult. I'd say, just learn the first measure and try to play the song!
We had only one person who could play any of the song at our party. Guess who? Yes, you are correct, Miss Madison won the competition and the $20.00. Madison stole the show at Little House of Music! The picture is of Madison and me, Miss G after I gave her the $20.00 bill.
Hard work pays off and Madison is a very hard worker and very determined to do her best in every opportunity that comes her way.
At the present time Madison has more money than I do, poor Miss G!!!
You go Madison! And never quit! Again, I am so very proud of you.
Love and Hugs Always,
