"MISS G WISHES GOLD FOR OUR UNITED STATES ATHLETICS!"

8-8-08!

Miss G with Little House of Music wishes gold for the good old USA!
Did you know that the five circles on the Olympic Flag represent the five parts of the world, the five continents? The Five Continents: Africa, Americans, Asia, Europe and Australia. Antarctica still has no competitors. North and South America are considered one continent. Some wonder why Europe and Asia are considered two continents instead of one! We really do have seven continents on our earth!

Baron de Coubertin designed the olympic flag in 1913-1914. The ring colors were based on the knowledge that at least one of the colors is on every flag of each participating country. The five interlocking rings represent the union of the five continents. First used in the seventh Olympaid in Antwerp, Belguim in 1920. At the end of the Games, the olympic flag is presented to the next host city by the Games host city.

I'll surely be keeping my fingers crossed for "Peace" at the Olympics. My son, Chris will be there with his track and field clients.
I have always enjoyed watching the Olympics, I hope you all watch and cheer on our United States athletics.
