"MISS G COULDN'T BELIEVE HER EYES!"

Miss G with Little House of Music almost fainted!
While in Johnson City, Tennessee on vacation my daughter in law Catherine and myself went to the grocery store and yes you can tell by the picture what we saw! The most beautiful Canadian Geese walking through the parking lot! I got so excited because I'm a real bird person. They started to walk right towards me. Isn't that special, I think they knew I loved birds! I only had to go to Tennessee to see Canadian Geese. Aren't they just precious? I can't believe their little feet didn't burn on the hot asphalt.
The first highlight of my trip to Tennessee was hearing Mahri Cate's heart beat at the Doctors., the second was finding a four leaf clover and the third was to see these awesome Canadian Geese.
I would have never dreamed in a million years that I would have seen Canadian Geese in a grocery store parking lot!
Enjoy, Miss G Little House of Music

"MISS G, I JUST LOVE THIS ONE!"

Miss G with Little House of Music thinks we all should read this first thing every morning!

"WHAT WOULD YOU ATTEMPT TO DO IF YOU KNEW YOU COULD NOT FAIL?"

Isn't that wonderful? Here's another one I like very much.

"THE ONLY WAY TO ASSURE YOUR FUTURE. "CREATE IT!"

Hope these help you as much as they help me!

Enjoy, Miss G little House of Music

"TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT THIS PICTURE!"

This is Miss G from Little House of Music. This very old advertisement is framed and hanging in my son and his wife's home. It came from England and Catherine saved it. I think it's really very cool!
"CRAVEN A" was in a magazine when you could still promote smoking! My son and he wife Catherine are both very apposed to smoking. When running and track and field is your life you couldn't have a better picture hanging in your home!
When you light up your next cigarette just remember "Smoking Will Not Affect Your Throat!
Enjoy!

"MISS G WITH A GREAT QUOTE"

Miss G with Little House of Music with a great quote!

"IS ANYONE SATISFIED WITH WHO THEY REALLY ARE? YOU COULD BE THE MOON AND STILL BE JEALOUS OF THE STARS! YOU HAVE TO LEARN TO SWIM IF YOU CAN'T WALK UPON THE SEA. SO I'M LEARNING EVERYDAY TO LIVE AND LOVE ME!"

Great words to think about! My hair is brown and very thin. I've always wished it would be a different color and thick and curly. I'm going to be satisfied with my hair now and be thankful I have any at all!

"MISS G'S SON CHRIS AND WIFE CATHERINE IN IRELAND"

Miss G with Little House of Music wanted to share this picture of my son Chris with his wife Catherine standing in front of Trinity College in Ireland. Founded by Queen Elizabeth I to "civilize" Dublin, Trinity College is Ireland's oldest and most famous college. Stopping by the atmospheric campus is a must while in Ireland. You can walk in the footsteps of some of the college's noted alumni, among them Jonathan Swift, Oscar Wilde, Bram Stoker and Samuel Beckett. While there you must see the famous "Book of Kells."
The "Book of Kells" also known as the "Book of Columba" illuminated manuscript that is a masterwork of Western Calligraphy and represent the pinnacle of Insular illumination. It is widely regarded s Ireland's finest National Treasury. The "Book of Kells" was transcribed by the Celtic Monks and contains the four Gospels of the New Testament in Latin.
The picture on the right is of a page in the "Book of Kells." Isn't it beautiful?
This blogging is so much fun plus very educational. I have learned so many things since I started to blog.
Enjoy!

"MEET MISS G'S GRANDKITTEN CHUCK"

Miss G here with Little House of Music and I am a cat person! I love "Chuck" and want to hold him and love him so badly but "Mr. Chuck" had decided he is scared of me and just the thought of me holding him is enough for him to jump out of the window, which he has already done!
Isn't he just precious? I only want to squeeze him one time! Chuck lives in Johnson City, TN and I was just up there visiting with Catherine my daughter in law. After I was there for three days "Big Mr. Chuck" finally let me pet him and on day four he walked by me and then ran! Cat's, aren't they funny people?
I'm sure if I were around him more he'd get to be my friend!
Enjoy the picture of "Chuck," this is as close to him as you'll ever get!

"MISS G DID THE LISTERINE TEST AND IT REALLY WORKS!"

Miss G here from Little House of Music with the results from the Listerine test!
While I was in Tennessee sitting on the back patio overlooking the mountains, oak trees, squirrels and birds, those pest's, the "MOSQUITO'S" got us!
Off to the store Catherine and I went to get a bottle of the yellow Listerine, the store brand also works. We came home and put the yellow Listerine in a spray bottle and sprayed the back patio, the chairs and all around us and we never got bit one more time from the terrible pest the mosquito's!
Listerine is the best bug repellent I've ever used. I really thought it wouldn't work but it does! Actually there were not any bugs that came near us!
Go and get yourself a spray bottle and any yellow Listerine and start spraying! Say "GOODBYE" to those pest mosquito's forever!
It worked for us, I hope it works for you.

"MISS G WAS IN TENNESSEE"

Hi, this Miss G from Little House of Music. What a great time I had in Johnson City, Tennessee. I saw the beautiful rolling hills of east Tennessee, heard my new granddaughters heartbeat, Mahri Cate is due November 9Th. I saw my son's new office at Milligan College where he is the head coach for Track and Field. I'm very proud of him!
I saw Canadian Geese, squirrels playing in the yard, a most beautiful spider web and most of all a wonderful time with my daughter in law, Catherine.
The picture on the left is a faculty picture of my son at Milligan College and the picture on the right is of the chapel steeple at Milligan College which was built in 1866. It is truly a beautiful campus.
I can see why my son and his wife love it there. A beautiful place to live with mountains surrounding the tri-cities of Johnson City, Kingsport and Bristol Tennessee with only a few miles to North Carolina or Virginia.
I had a great time and if you've never been there treat yourself to a peaceful and beautiful vacation.

"MISS G'S FISH REAL FISH STORY!"

Hi, this is Miss G with Little House of Music with my fish story! I love to fish and will stand for hours with a pole in my hands until: One day I was fishing at Lake Harney in Geneva, Florida. I got so excited, I caught a fish and I knew right away it was a really big one. I'd try to bring it in and back out it would go. Back and forth, back and forth. I was determined to get this fish. So I kept trying and trying until finally I had it! When I got it's head out of the water and saw it I almost had a heart attack! It was a Alligator Gar, big and very ugly. At first when I saw it I thought I caught a real live Alligator. It scared me to death!!! The men on the boat yelled "Do Not Get Near It!" They came to my rescue and cut my line because there is no way anyone was going to put their hand in it's mouth to get the hook out! All on board thought it was funny, but I was a nervous wreck! That fish was the ugliest thing I had ever seen.
The Alligator Gar can grow to weigh over 300 lbs. and has needle teeth and is the largest of the Garfish.
I'm back to fishing again but I surly don't want to catch another one of those things ever again!
Now you know my fish story! Enjoy the pictures!!!

"MISS G SEES MYSTERY BIRD ON LAKE MONROE"

Hi, this is Miss G with Little House of Music and I saw a bird on Lake Monroe that I have never seen before.
I took pictures and came home and searched my bird books and the web to find out what kind of bird it is.
It's a "GALLINULES" and is a duck-like bird seen on fresh water ponds or lakes. The red shield that looks like red leather on it's forehead makes it unmistakably different. It loves to climb on and around tall grass and reeds at the edge of lakes. It has very big feet that our a greenish yellow color.
There is also the Purple Gallinule, one of the most beautiful birds in the world. It has the intense bluish purple of a peacock on it's chest and a light blue shield on its forehead. It's legs are bright yellow with extremely large feet which allow it to walk on lily pads and other water plants in search of insect food. The pond at Royal Palm in the Florida Everglades National Park is the best place to look for this bird. The purple Gallinule is a rare and exciting find.
Now I know the rest of the story. It's a beautiful bird and I'm so happy I got to see one.
Enjoy!

"A MUSIC TIP FROM MISS G"

Miss G here from Little House of Music with a music tip for all you musicians out there.
When you are learning a new song, if you have the music or the song on CD that you are learning, listen to the song while you follow along reading your music. It is very helpful to see what you are hearing and it also helps you learn to play the song faster. I think they call that in a minds eye or maybe it should be in a minds ears!
Try it, I know it will help you learn your song.

"MISS G WENT ON A RIDE OF A LIFETIME ON THE GOODYEAR BLIMP!"

Yes, I'm a member of the Blimp Club. This is Miss G with Little House of Music and I still have my membership card that says, "MEMBER OF THE BLIMP CLUB!"
When I was sixteen my Aunt and Uncle took me on a vacation from York, Pennsylvania to Miami, Florida.
One morning my Uncle Henry said, "Today we are going to ride on the Goodyear Blimp!" He was always kidding me so I really didn't pay any attention until there we were and there was the Goodyear Blimp.
He and I were the only passengers except for the pilot. Up we went and it was breath taking, it was so beautiful up there. The pilot told us where we were and what we were seeing. I never knew there were so many beautiful shades of blue water. We went out over the Atlantic Ocean and all over Miami. I never saw so many different bodies of water.
Riding on the Goodyear Blimp is still one of my highlights of my life. I'd go up again in a minute. I was never scared because I was so excited.
Every time I see a blimp on TV or anywhere I relive the wonderful memory of my day on the Goodyear Blimp!
Thank you Uncle Henry!

"MISS G LISTENED TO MUSIC AS SHE FLOATED DOWN THE ST. JOHNS RIVER"

Miss G with Little House of Music and her husband Paul and good friends Linda and Bo were on the "Rivership" that leaves from Historic Sanford, Florida on Lake Monroe and took a ride on the St. Johns River in Florida.
Needless to say it was beautiful. The Rivership served us lunch which was delicious and we had a wonderful afternoon. They had live music on the Riverboat which added the special touch for an enjoyable afternoon.
DID YOU KNOW: The St. Johns River is 310 miles long and is the longest river in Florida?
DID YOU KNOW: The St. Johns River flows south to north? There are only around 15 rivers on earth that flow south to north. The one that I'm sure you've heard of is the Nile River in Africa that runs south to north through Egypt.
If you are ever in Sanford, Florida take a ride on the Rivership and enjoy an afternoon or evening of serenity with food, drinks and music.
The picture on the left is of the St. Johns River and the one on the right is of the Nile River.
You didn't know you were so smart did you?

"MISS G GOT TO FEED THE FLORIDA SANDHILL CRANES!"

I was so excited! This is Miss G from Little House of Music and I got to feed the Sandhill Cranes over the weekend. I don't think it would have taken very many days and I would have had them eating out of my hand. They are so beautiful.
We were visiting our good friends at Lake Harney in Geneva, Florida and my friend Linda feeds the Sandhill Cranes everyday. They come right up to the door and holler when they are hungry. It is so cute!
The Sandhill Cranes you see in the pictures are the Florida Sandhill Cranes. There are many different sizes, shapes and colors of the Sandhill Cranes on earth.
The Florida Sandhill Cranes are also called: Grus Canadensis Pratenis! They are five to six feet tall and weigh about six-fourteen pounds. There are around 650,000 thousand Florida Sandhill Cranes.
The red on their heads is very beautiful!
I hope you enjoy the pictures of these beautiful creators we have here in our beautiful state of Florida.

"MISS G COACHES ALL AGES OF STUDENTS!"

This is Miss G with Little House of Music and one day about 8 months ago I received a phone call from a friend of Kay's wanting to know if I would go to her home to coach her on her piano because she just had back surgery and couldn't drive. I don't usually go to peoples homes to teach but something told me I should go and teach Kay. So of course I said yes. It has turned out to be one of the most rewarding things I have undertaken in a long time.
Not only did Kay have back surgery she had just lost her husband of 42 years. She defiantly needed a boost in her life. She lives alone except for her two cats and has always wanted to play the piano.
Kay is now playing the piano and just had a hip replacement! Poor woman! Her music has saved her from a lonely depressing life.
Kay and I are not just piano coach and student, we have become very good friends and I enjoy every minute she and I are together. She needed me and that's the greatest thing in life is to be needed.
Each week she has improved tremendously and is now playing some of her favorite songs. I'm so proud of her for not just sitting at home doing nothing, she is learning, she is getting her degree in music!
I love you Kay and you have helped me as much as I have helped you.

"MISS G SAW FIVE GREAT AMERICAN EAGLES"

This is Miss G with Little House of Music and you have to look real hard at the tree behind the one with the moss hanging from it. In the tree in back there are five America Eagles. How cool is that! I couldn't get any closer because I would have scared them off.
We were visiting friends in Geneva, Florida on Lake Harney and I looked and there were five America Eagles perched on that dead tree. I think I'm lucky if I see one but five at a time. I know the picture isn't all that great but I wanted to share it with you anyway!

"MEET OUR RISING "STAR" MISS SIOBHAN"

This student is a "Sweetie Pie!" Look at that beautiful natural curly hair, what I'd do for hair like that! Hi, this is Miss G with Little House of Music and I'm really enjoying coaching Siobhan. She is always prepared and so very eager to learn. Hardly took her any time and she was in the next level of playing. Plus Siobhan has a wonderful, fun personality. You Go Girl!
Siobhan just got back from a weeks vacation in South Carolina and still knew her songs. Now that's a GREAT student!
Other than playing the piano and becoming a pianist Siobhan plays soccer and tennis and of course loves to swim. Her best pal in the world is her dog Deeohge! Isn't that a precious name for a dog?
Siobhan will be in the fifth grade and is double digit 10 years old. What a future lies before her. She is the kind of child that you already know will
succeed in anything she puts her mind to. I personally know she is not very far from becoming a real live "Pianist!"
Remember, behind every great child are great parents and Siobhan has two wonderful parents. You Go Mom and Dad!
I Love You Siobhan, keep up the good work!

"DON'T WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH?"

Miss G with Little House of Music. My son is a sports agent for track and field and goes all over the world. Chris says that everywhere he goes just about everyone speaks English. When Lore came to visit me from Belgium she could speak English, Dutch (Flemish), German and French. When we have the freedom of speech why don't we Americans learn other languages?
I do believe that anyone that becomes a US citizen should be able to speak English but if I went to France to visit I wouldn't know a thing they were saying and I studied French for eight years! I only learned how to conjugate every verb! I think our school systems should do a much better job of teaching our children to speak other languages instead of how to conjugate a verb!
I think we Americans should stop being so lazy and learn other languages. After all we live in a country that has Freedom of Speech!
I'm going to get my French dictionary out! I also studied Russian for three years and can't pronoun one word correctly!
I just might soon write a blog in French!

"MISS G'S PINKISH-PURPLE PERIWINKLE PLANT"

"PLANTS ARE REALLY NATURE'S BEST CHEMISTS."
Go ahead and try to say that five times in a row! "Pinkish-Purple Periwinkle Plant!" This is Miss G with Little House of Music and I didn't realize until I searched the web that my Periwinkle plants are very important plants. The birds must carry the seeds all over the yard and drop them because I have different color periwinkles everywhere in my yard and I love them. Periwinkles have been cultivated since ancient times.
The common name of plants in two related genera in the Apocyraceae family, Catharanthus and Vinca Minor!
The related Madagascar Periwinkle (Catharanthus Roseus) produces chemicals that prevent the division of cells and are used to treat "LEUKAEMIA!" Are you believing this? Very, very COOL! I have always thought that there is something on our earth to cure every illness, we just have to fine it!
I was just going to show you my plant until I found all this interesting information on the periwinkle.
Enjoy! Stay tuned for more plant information!

"MISS G FROM BELGIUM TO HAWAII AND HER TIME ZONE CHART"

This is really funny but I need it. This is Miss G with Little House of Music and if I talking to Lore in Belgium or Madison in Hawaii and we are discussing our next call I get all confused! So I made myself a time zone chart so it's a lot easier for me to figure out when we are going to talk to each other the next time. This picture is not my time zone chart but mine looks about like this one!
I had a handle on calling Lore in Belgium but now since I have Madison in Hawaii and they are both six hours difference from me, but six hours both ways I get totally confused. Do I add six hours or do I subtract six hours?
I now have it all under control and we are using Spyke which I highly recommend to everyone. All you need is a microphone and a camera, (about $50.00) for your computer and not only can you talk to friends and family everywhere you can also see them! It's so cool especially when you have your own time zone chart!
Look into Spyke, you'll love it!

"MISS G'S FIRST CHRISTMAS TREE IN FLORIDA"

Hi, this is Miss G with Little House of Music and I have lived in "Paradise," the state of Florida since July, 1990. If I would have had any sense at all I would have been born here!
My first Christmas in Florida in 1990 my Aunt Faye purchased a little three inch Norfolk Pine tree from Walmart with Christmas decorations on it for $2.99.
Yes, the pictures you are seeing is that same tree I purchased 18 years ago. Are you believing this? When I look at that tree I can't believe my eyes. From the size of it one would think that I planted it 60 years ago.
Every time I look at it I smile and still see my little three inch tree that was my Christmas tree 18 years ago and remember the wonderful Christmas we all had here in Florida.Thank you Aunt Faye for this big beautiful tree!
There is a very good lesson to be learned by that little Christmas tree. The day I arrived in Flordia I did not know one person! When you start over in life just believe in yourself and work hard and the world becomes yours. When I think of all the people I've met and all the friends I have here now, I feel stronger than my tree.
Enjoy my tree and Merry Christmas!

"MISS G AND MADISON SAW EACH OTHER LAST NIGHT FROM HAWAII TO FLORIDA!"

This is Miss G with Little House of Music and I thought I was going to Disney last night because I was so excited!
I thought that when my Madison moved to Hawaii I wouldn't get to see her for a long time. Well last night we saw each other via computer and talked and talked. The picture is the last day we were together before she moved to Hawaii.
We both signed up for Skype which is a free download and we both have camera's on our computers so we can see each other and talk for free all the time. Madison is six hours before our time zone but we will have plenty of time to talk. I just have to learn how to subtract 6 from our time!
Next Wednesday I'm going to continue giving Madison piano lessons via computer. Now just tell me how cool this is!
My friend Lore in Belgium which is six hour later than us does not have Skype available so I had to teach her piano by phone!
I'm so much happier this morning because I now know I can see my Madison anytime except of course when she and I are sleeping!
Check into Skype, you can see and talk all you want to your family and friends for free. I just love this modern age!

"MISS G'S RAIN LILY & SWEET POTATO PLANT

Enjoy my blooming flowers in my yard. This is Miss G with Little House of Music and I was doing some gardening yesterday but ended up taking more pictures than doing any gardening!
The picture on the left is of a rain lily. They say they bloom when we are going to have rain. Our rain lilys here in Florida are pink but some states have white and I've also seen yellow, I'm sure there are more colors of rain lilys elssewhere.

The picture on the right is my sweet potato plant. Dark purple leaves and the flowers are just beautiful? I have another sweet potato plant but it doesn't bloom but it's green, pink and purple color, it's beautiful. The sweet potato plants can also be a ground cover. You can actually plant a sweet potato that you get from the grocery store and it will take off. It's not as pretty as the deep purple one or the variegated one but the leaves are the same and they are usually green but they are an excellent ground cover.
I took lots of pictures yesterday so stay tuned for more beautiful flowers.

"HISTORY FOR JULY 7TH, THE HOOVER DAM"

Hello, this is Miss G with Little House of Music and I have very interesting history that happened on this day.

On July 7, 1930 the building of the Hoover Dam began. Over the next five years a total of 21,000 men worked ceaselessly to produce what would be the largest dam of its time as well as one of the largest man made structures in the world. The dam is in Black Canyon, on the Colorado River and borders Arizona and Nevada. The Hoover Dam was named for our 31St President Herbert Hoover.
It's beautiful, isn't it?
You didn't know you were so smart!
Stayed tuned for more exciting history events and music events.

"MISS G TEACHING LITTLE HOUSE OF MUSIC"

Miss G from Little House of Music is so very proud of my Little House of Music students. Aren't they precious?
My students are doing a "GREAT" job and have already completed lesson three. This is a new summer class. Unfortunately some of our students were on vacation and missed out on the pictures, we'll get them at a later time.
The picture on the left was taken right after we "Marched Into Music." Every Little House of Music student gets a certificate to hang somewhere in their home that they are a member of the "Little House of Music Marching Band." Keeping in time is so important and this is how we get our little students to learn to stay in time with the music. Picture: front row left is Ryan, Natalie in the middle and Sarah on the right. Back row is Braden on the left and Claire on the right.
The picture on the right is of our group hug. Left is Braden, then "squashed" Natalie, Sara, Ryan and Claire. You can tell by the picture how much fun we have learning music.
Braden has a different "Marching into Music" hat on because he was the Drum Major and MC this week for showtime. Every week we pick a different leader when we march and then that student is also the MC for "SHOWTIME" when they sing into the microphone at the end of each class. We have no Myrtle the Turtles in our class. Every student gets up and grabs the microphone and sings a song for us at showtime. This is so important for the students formal education. You know speaking into a microphone is a very difficult thing for adults to do, but not our "Stars!" They are learing to do this now so they will never be shy like "Myrtle the Turtle" and hide in their shell!
By the way I sang one of my hit songs at showtime, "Chocolate Pizza!"
Stay Tuned for more on this great Little House of Music class.

She doesn't know it yet but when Miss Stacey represents the state of Florida in the Miss America pageant she will be playing the piano!
Stacey has entered the "FUN" zone and we are going to have the time of our lives at lessons! Fun, smiles, laughter and of course lots of hugs.
I'll give her two months and she'll be in the next level of playing the piano and you all know what that means, she'll be a pianist! After all, she is going into the fifth grade and is already in double digits, age 10, so it won't take her long to be entertaining her friends and family.
All of us at Little House of Music are trilled to have Stacey part of our musical family.
Stacey, please remember to play your C exercise and Scales 5,000 times a week!
Miss G from Little House of Music sends Stacey 5,000 hugs!

"MISS G'S OWN WORDS: WHAT IS LITTLE HOUSE OF MUSIC?"

WHAT IS LITTLE HOUSE OF MUSIC?
BY: Miss G July 5, 2008
Where Children say, “I LEARNED MUSIC THE “FUN” WAY”

Little House of Music is a home, a fantasy where children learn music and the only supplies they need are their hugs, teeth for smiling and their bellybutton. The hugs and teeth are easy to understand but the bellybutton means if you line it up with middle “C” you can play any song our world has ever been blessed with. Little House of Music is all about love for music. Little House of Music sets the environment where every musical symbol becomes a part of the happy family.

Where else can a child have Mr. Quarter note as their best friend, touch Miss Treble Clef as they would touch their own mother. Where else can a child have sisters and brothers as notes?

Little House of Music not only teaches children music, Little House of Music teaches children to love music.

Out of our 5 senses children use 3 of them in Little House of Music. Seeing, hearing and touch. Touch should be called feel because music is filled with feelings.

Little House of Music builds self-esteem in children, entertains children, teaches self-awareness, self respect, values and most importantly respect for others.

Little House of Music is so overly exaggerated that students learn and don’t even realize they are learning. Little House of music is fun, and music should be fun. Our students never practice the piano, they play the piano.

There are thousands of different styles and sounds in music. In our musical home, Little House of Music children’s ears hear bagpipes, accordions, rain sticks, harps, didgeridoos, saxophones, children also are introduced to different styles of music such as jazz, classical, marches, Celtic, opera and mood music to name just a few.

Children at age four can tell you the difference between the musical terms instrumental and A cappella.

Little House of music prepares a child to play the instrument of their choice in the first three levels or 30 lessons. Although we encourage our students to continue with the piano because it is the only instrument that continues to teach both clefs, dynamics, appreciation and music theory.

Students are taught the importance of listening to Mozart while doing homework or studying.

Little House of Music helps prepare our students for formal education. We encourage students to speak or sing into a microphone by having show-time at the end of each class.

Time after time University studies have proven that children who study music do better in math, reading and science skills.

In Little House of Music the children appreciate our free music concerts every morning. Our bird ensemble entertains us every morning until our world gets noisy.

In Little House of Music children learn that it is OK to be shy, to cry, and to make a mistake and to never to say can’t.

The only universal language we have in the world is music. When a child plays a song they are playing that song the same way any other child in our universe would play that same song. Could music possibly be the catalyst that unites our world into a peaceful world?

"RICOLA" MISS G SAW AND HEARD THE ALPENHORN"

This is Miss G from Little House of Music and it was the coolest thing to see and hear an Alpenhorn. I was at a track meet where my daughter-in-law Catherine was running in Orlando and Ricola throat drops were there to sponsor the track meet. They are certainly huge, I never dreamed one would be that long.
Alphorn or Alpenhorn is a brass instrument, consisting of a natural wooden horn of conical bore, with a cup shaped mouthpiece used by mountain dwellers in Switzerland and elsewhere. similar horns were used in most moutainous Europe, from Sweden to the Romanian.
The archaeological record stretches back some two thousand years in the Celtic tribes. The Alphorn or Alpenhorn sounded as apart of the daily actives of the shepherds and cowherd of the mountain people.
I'd love to have one but where in the world would I keep it. It's a little long for my music room, although they do have smaller ones but I'd want the longest one!
It's a very interesting instrument. Hope you have enjoyed!
Stay turned!

"MISS G'S FAVORITE SONG FROM LITTLE HOUSE OF MUSIC LEVEL ONE"

"I'M A STAR"
Written by: Maggie McGuinness and Miss G, (Georgia Germond)

Here I stand, a song away from being a star
Not a hair out of place, a smile on my face
I know every verse, I sing and rehearse
I've waited so long, to sing you my song

Butterflies, excitement in my eyes
Everything is all set for a time I won't forget
The song is my own, the stage is my home
It's my special time, I'm ready to shine

Music fills the air
Magic's everywhere
The show is opening
Now it's my turn to sing

The light's on me, like I always dreamed it would be
Standing here before a crowd, feeling oh, so proud
This never has to end, I can always pretend
Wherever I may be, whatever song's inside of me
All I need is a Melody, and I'm a Star
I'm a Star

I just wish you could see and hear the little ones that take Little House of Music from me play act this song. It is precious!

"HOW TO WRITE A SONG BY MISS G AT LITTLE HOUSE OF MUSIC"

This is Miss G from Little House of Music and I'm going to give you four notes in the right hand and four notes in the left hand for you to write your own composition! These are the same notes I gave to my students when we did our "Two Octaves of Kids" CD that was on the Grammy ballot. It's very easy and simple: Here Goes!

Right Hand Notes: C D Eflat G
Left Hand Notes: C Bflat Aflat and G
Do not ever play these notes in this order. Pick three notes in the right hand, any three notes, mix them up and pick two notes, any two notes in the left hand.
Now play the three notes in the right hand that you picked. Beautiful aren't they? Now add a left hand note in the bass clef with the three notes in the right hand. Even more beautiful isn't it?
Play the notes in the right hand an octave higher, now add the second note you picked in the left hand. Your impressed with yourself aren't you?
Keep switching the notes around, pick different notes, you can put the right hand notes in the left hand and the left hand notes in the right hand and it will always sound wonderful.
With this combination of notes you could sit for one month and keep writing new compositions. There are thousands of different combinations for these few notes. Actually you only have six notes because the C and G are in both hands. Six notes and you can write your own composition. I'd just love to hear what you all come up with. You are going to be very surprised. It's so much fun to write a song. Get busy and write your first composition. I give these same notes to all my students and I wish you could hear what the five year old's come up with, their songs are beautiful and wonderful songs.
Good Luck and Have Fun! If you have a question for Miss G call her at:

"ANOTHER "STAR" IS BORN, MEET MISS SARA"

Just look at that face, that marvelous face of Miss Sara. Hi, this is Miss G with Little House of Music and I'd like to tell you about a charming little girl, Miss Sara.
I have never once seen Sara without her beautiful smile. She takes it everywhere with her because she is a happy child and a proud child which she should be.
Sara plays the piano beautifully and has now become a songwriter. She just recently played a song she is writing and it's breath taking for a child Sara's age 10 to have such feeling inside of her. Sara's song, "Is May Here" made it on our "Two Octaves of Kids" CD which made it on the Grammy ballot. Sara has played the piano at every event we have ever had here at Little House of Music and done a superb job. Of course I must give her parents a lot of credit for all of Sara's success, Sara's parents are wonderful parents and she is a very lucky girl!
When Sara isn't studying for school or playing the piano our Miss Sara loves to cook and just recently spent a week at the Young Chefs Academy Camp. Sara also listens to a lot of music and likes to make movies of she and her friends on the computer. How cool that is!
Sara took a Jazz dance class in school. Just think Sara may be a Jazz Pianist!
Our Sara would like to be a pastry chef when she grows up. I can just see her pastry show now, Sara making all kinds of goodies while the music she has written is playing in the background of her show! Of course she'll have Cd's to sell along with her recipes!
I never really expect too much from any of my students! We'll have to get busy with a name for her show!
I love you Sara, keep smiling and always remember how proud I am of you.

"MADISON AND MISS G WORKING ON THE SONG "I'M THE TEN!"

The song "I'm The Ten" is finished and it is great! We are all so excited. This is Miss G with Little House of Music and I'm so impressed with Hallie and Madison. These girls are great songwriters! I did help some but they did most of the lyrics. We would probably have the whole Broadway Show, "Lyric and Lore" done by now except we have so much fun! I keep saying, girls, girls, get over here to the piano!!!
Hallie had to leave early so the picture is of me and Madison after finishing the song. All three of us are very happy with the song until next week, then we'll think of something we did or shouldn't have done!
Can't wait for you all to hear it. For more information on "Lyric and Lore" call Miss G at Little House of Music: 888-GFEDCBA or 888-433-3222

"PARTY TIME, PARTY TIME, BANANA SPLIT TIME!"

This is Miss G with Little House of Music and did we ever have a party! Hallie, Madison and myself were supposed to work on our Broadway Show but that didn't last very long! We hit the pool and played or I should say tried to play volleyball in the pool and then we played cards with my husband Paul and then ate dinner. We had lemon pepper chicken, salad, french fries and fruit. Both Hallie and Madison were stuffed and couldn't eat another bit until I mentioned I got all the makings to make good old Banana Splits. Both of the girls ran to the kitchen. I think they did a wonderful job making their banana splits considering either one of them have ever worked at the Dairy Queen! Boy, were they ever good!
Remember, the girls need lots of energy to play the piano and write songs!

Enjoy the pictures!
