Miss G with Little House of Music was honored to be involved in the purchase of Sydney and Maddie's new piano. I went along with their parents to check out the piano for the girls. They have been playing on a electric keyboard but they have progressed so fast they now need a real live piano.
Pictured is the proud Mom, Miss Jo Jo in front of the girls very first real live piano.
I'm so happy for them all. There is no better sound than to be walking in your home and hearing one of your children playing the piano.
Their new piano will bring hours and hours of joy to their home.
YOU GO MOM AND DAD! Jo Jo and her husband Bob are wonderful parents and all four of their children are very special to me.

Only 19 more lessons and these girls will be playing the piano!

NO REGULATIONS FOR PRIVATE MUSIC TEACHER’S:

I find it appalling that anyone who wishes to teach private music lessons to children is allowed to do so without first being fingerprinted, a background check done on them and have a state license that requires a test to see if they are even qualified to teach a musical instrument to our children.
There are millions of private music teachers in the USA without any restraints. Everyday there are millions of children in the USA being taught privately by a teacher who has had no checks done on them.I have done a survey asking parents if their child's private music teacher has a state license to teach music and if they know the teacher has been fingerprinted and a background check done on them. All the parents just assume that teacher's have all of the above checks done before they can teach children music in their homes or in a little room in a music store without a window to view their child's lesson. They tell me that every state requires all these checks to be done before anyone can teach and work with children. When I tell them this isn't the fact I wish you could see their faces and hear what they have to say!I find it unbelievable that this issue has been overlooked in the USA. I have written letters to my state officials hoping that in the 2008 Legislative Session this problem will be solved in my state but what about the other states?
The list is very long of adults working with children that must be fingerprinted and have a background check done on them, Girl Scout leaders, parents helping their child’s teacher in schools, after school sport coaches just to name a few. Why not private music teachers?
I personally know of cases where the music teacher has assaulted children. I hope that we don’t allow this to happen to another child!As adults, it is our responsibility to take care of our children instead of assuming that all the above checks are done on private music teachers.
We must take better care of our children and help parents stop wasting their money on a music teacher who is not qualified to teach.
As a private music teacher myself I have first hand knowledge of way too many cases of children being taught by a private music teacher who is not qualified to teach. I certainly hope there are no pedophiles that play music and decide to start teaching our children private music lessons!
I would appreciate any help you could give me concerning this issue.

Susan "Lee" my cousin is loading the car for me to go to the airport because I had hand surgery! My almost sister Jeanne is taking out the trash for me because of my hand! I felt like a queen!
While in York, PA I also spent time with Susan and Jeanne. Just how lucky can one person be? All these people to love and all these people who love me. We certainly do laugh a lot and certainly don't act at all like grown ups! I keep saying that when I grow up I'm going to be a piano coach!
Thank you Susan and Jeanne for helping out your old buddy!
I'll be seeing you both very soon. Next trip to York we are having a sleeping party like the good old days. I don't want to grow up!

We just recently had a get together in our hometown, York, PA. Personally I think we all look like we are still in high school!

I was so impressed with the article that I personally contacted Erica to see if she would like to join our Little House of Music family. I'm so busy, I need help!!! We met, became friends and business associates in an instant. It was like I have known her my whole life. Just every once in a while in life someone comes along that you just know will be an asset to your business and life. Erica is that someone new in my life.
Erica is married and has the most precious little girl, Miss Kayla. She has already began learning Little House of Music at age two. YOU GO MOM AND KAYLA!
I am looking forward to a long relationship with Erica. She has already stepped up to the plate and hit a home run!

I am so very proud of Michael. He is in level three theory and is playing beautiful songs that are at the advanced level of playing and he has only studied music for a year!
The only way I can explain Michael is that he has the "Music Mind!" He does play these difficult songs a lot but his mind was made for music. In no time he has these difficult songs memorized. I keep telling him someday he'll get a scholarship to study music at a University.
Michael loves music and Michael lives music.
I enjoy teaching Michael so much because he wants to learn so much! I just wish he would have started lessons with me when he was five years old.
I can't say it enough, I'm very proud of you Michael. Keep up the great love you have for music and you will never be bored. Music will or maybe already is your best friend!

I had surgery on my left thumb last Friday. Everyone has problems playing in the bass clef with their left hand but this takes the cake! My left thumb had been hurting for sometime now but not like this!
Dr. Bob, my surgeon said it will be healed in no time, I sure hope he is right!
I have to finish my new CD so it better heal really fast.
I'm lucky it's only my left thumb, how in the world can it hurt so much? I feel sorry for people that really have a big problem.

Miss G with Little House of Music is proud to introduce the Iezzi family. This picture was in our local "MOMS" magazine and was taken and sent to me by Erica K. Daniels. Miss Carolyn pictured at the piano is one of my teachers for our free "Special Needs" class we are having for any and all children with special needs. Miss Julia another student of mine is also going to be one of our teachers. You'll be seeing lots of pictures from this class in the future.
It's time to give back to those less fortunate. We are getting calls now for our new class to begin. Miss Carolyn has ADHD and studying music has helped here tremendously so I thought she would really benefit by helping me to teach our "Special Needs" children. Little House of Music is handicap ready for wheel chairs, we have a "Fun" bridge for the children to go over in wheel chairs.

Miss G with Little House of Music had back surgery two years ago! The back brace was so ugly that one of my students said, Miss G you should decorate it! So I did. I got complements every where I went! I was in style with my decorated back brace! Thank heavens I only had to wear that thing for six months!
Before I had surgery everyone told me never to have back surgery, well if I had it to do over I would have had the surgery five years earlier. I hurt for five years for no reason at all. I tried every thing else at least five times to relieve the pain and nothing I tried helped me. I walked into the hospital on a Friday morning at 5:00am to get surgery and was back home Sunday morning at 9:00am. No pain ever since, of course I was a lucky person because I had a top back surgeon Dr. Richard Hynes do my surgery. I'm like a brand new person!
Don't forget to always decorate any brace you are wearing! The decorations relieve the misery of wearing a brace! Plus you'll be stylin'!

Miss G with Little House of Music is proud to present our newest "STAR," MISS LYDIA! Lydia is beautiful with a personality to match. You just never know what is going to pop when she is around! Sometimes I'm afraid it's going to be her!!! Lydia is never a dull moment! Lydia is one surprise after another and she is so much fun. To know her is to love her.
I have been coaching Lydia for over three years now and she is like my own daughter. I look forward to seeing her walk through the door each week, you just never know what kind of entrance she'll have!!! When Lydia enters a room it's like a hurricane entered the room. She is so much fun I wish she could stay longer every week!
Lydia not only excels on the piano, she is also a straight A student in 7TH grade and a teenager, age 13! Lydia is another Miss 4.0! I'd give anything if you all could see the interaction between she and her Mother at lessons! I just love it!
Lydia also plays basketball, on the swim team and a cheerleader. With her pleasing personality she has got to be a fantastic cheerleader.
Lydia has a wonderful family that takes GREAT care of all their children. Remember, behind every successful child are great parents. Lydia has a wonderful family. I love them all and consider them part of my family.
Lydia, keep up the SUPER job you are doing with your life and keep everyone around you smiling. Anything you want out of life you will receive because you are a hard worker and an achiever. If your parents ever get sick of you, you can come live with me! I'd love that!

"MISS G WITH LITTLE HOUSE OF MUSIC WANTS TO KNOW WHERE ALL THE QUIET WENT?"

Miss G with Little House of Music gets up early every morning. It's the only time I get quiet time! It's the only time I get to hear the bird ensemble. The birds sing all the time but who can hear them. Our world is much too noisy and it's stressful to me. If you sleep later than 6:30, there is no quiet time at all. First it's the trash pick up, then construction workers, then people mowing grass to name just a few of the things in our world that makes noise pollution.
I am so sick and tired of people mowing their yards on Sunday! Can we not have one quiet day? I think we should have a law for quiet Sunday's all over our world. I am going to go to the next town meeting and suggest quiet Sundays where I live.
The picture of me is of my lip raising when I get angry! Can you all do that with your lip? My husband Paul and I were having a relaxing Sunday morning on our patio reading the Sunday newspaper when our next store neighbor decided to mow his grass, ON SUNDAY MORNING NO LESS!
I want to hear the birds sing and I want to hear them right now. Let's get rid of our noise POLLUTION!

Our Little House of Music's Mascot, Patch, Miss G's cat looks like a Sumo Wrestler!!! Poor Patch had to have both of his hips removed when he was one year old so he is not very active to say the least. He weighs in at 25 pounds but isn't he precious?

Miss G with Little House of Music feels very proud and honored. Two weeks ago one of my students family members got married at the Botanical Gardens at Florida Institute of Technology or FIT. As the guest were arriving for the wedding they selected to play my CD "Dancing Four O'Clocks!" Just to think, people were listening to my original songs played by me and I didn't even know it! I'M VERY EXCITED! I forget that at any given moment someone could be listening to a song I composed. I hardly ever think of it but when I heard they played my entire CD over and over again I was so trilled and honored.

My Lore in Belgium loves musicals. Here are three pictures of Lore with Dimitri Verhoeven. Lore is a very big fan of Dimitri who is a 34 year old Belgium musical actor who played and still plays different roles in a lot of musicals in Belgium and Holland. Lore thinks Dimitri is very cute and friendly and Lore loves to cuddle him every time she see him!!! Dimitri is multi-talented, he is a very good vocalist, actor and dancer. Lore has already met him five times, 2 times after a show, 1 time before a show, 1 time at a premiere and one time at the local Musical Awards.

Miss G with Little House of Music attends Grandparents Tea at her Grandson's school.
What a crowd they had! It was a great turn out this year for the Grandparent's Tea. The school's choir sang and entertained us, we had cookies and it was great to be invited. Is there anything we grandparents wouldn't do for our grandchildren? I had to leave our home at 7:30 in the morning to get there in time! It was well worth it.
I'm so proud of my grandson Braden. He's my own super hero and isn't he just PRECIOUS! The other picture is of my daughter Sue Ann with my granddaughter Miss Natalie who is also PRECIOUS!
I'm so lucky to live near enough to all of them to get to share everything with them.
I love you Braden and Natalie and you too Sue Ann!

Miss G with Little House of Music congratulates Miss Maddie MacDonald our newest "Student of the Week" for the week of September 26, 2008. Last week Maddie sat on the piano bench and went from one song to the next, she passed a whopping ten songs at one lesson. YOU GO MADDIE!

Maddie who is eight is trying to pass her sister Sydney in the picture with her brother Robbie. Sydney who is five took Little House of Music and is now playing songs in level one books. I would say in about two to three weeks Maddie will caught up to Sydney.

Maddie said to me yesterday at her lesson, "Sydney can't tie her shoes and she can't read yet but listen to how well she plays the piano, she is reading notes!"

I am very proud of you Maddie, you are well on your way to becoming a professional pianist, mostly because you love to play the piano. Keep up the good work and keep playing all those beautiful songs.

What a great picture that was in the paper of our Matthew. He runs as fast as he plays the drums! He is so precious that it wouldn't surprise me if he gets a lot of practice running from the girls!
